I was reminded in a dinner conversation last night of this essay, which does a very good job of tracking the perspectives and U-turns of leading proponents of the war in Iraq and advocates of Iraq's democratic transformation. The essay features Daniel Pipes and Bernard Lewis, with guest appearances by a cast of other players.
